Robert "Bob" Jargo, 84, of Andover, Iowa, passed away on Tuesday, June 22, 2010, at the Mill Valley Care Center in Bellevue, Iowa. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 26, 2010, at 10:30 AM at Faith Lutheran Church in Andover, IA. Visitation will be held on Friday, June 25, from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at the Faith Lutheran Church and prior to the service on Saturday morning. Burial will be in the Miles Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the family.Robert "Bob" was born on October 25, 1925 to William H. and Anna (Corlis) Jargo on the family farm near Teeds Grove, Iowa. He was a graduate of Miles High School. He married Lucella (Sally) Schmidt on September 26, 1948 at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Preston, Iowa. They were married for 54 years. She passed away on December 29, 2002. They enjoyed dancing, traveling, and participating in church and community activities. He was a farmer and cattle feeder on the Century Farm near Andover all his life and farmed with his father, son and grandsons. He showed livestock at major livestock shows in Chicago and Kansas City. He was on the Board of Directors of the Teeds Grove Savings Bank, C&J Service Company and the Pearson Community Center. He was a member of Faith Lutheran Church, Andover, Iowa, the Great River Threshers, the Clinton County Cattlemen, Iowa Cattlemens Association and was a 50 year Member of the Masons. After retiring from farming, he enjoyed gardening, woodworking and spending time doing things at his Church which he considered his second home. He exhibited his wood working projects at county fairs and received numerous blue ribbons for them. He made a lot of wood projects for his family members as well as friends, including trains at the Andover Church and the Miles Park. He also enjoyed picking strawberries for his family and friends. Bob had a love of animals and always had a faithful companion by his side.Bob is survived by a daughter Nancy (Allen) Christiansen of Thomson, IL; four grandchildren Kenny (Beth) Jargo and Ryan (Melissa) Jargo all of rural Clinton, IA, Angela (Douglas)Tegeler of rural Morrison, IL and Robert Christiansen of Thomson, IL;. 5 Great grandchildren, Kyle Jargo, Shawn and Allison Tegeler, and Connor and Carrson Jargo; a daughter-in-law Penny (Steve Walton) Jargo of rural Clinton, IA, a sister-in-law Joyce (Victor) Camp of Gooselake and several cousins, nieces and nephews. Bob was preceded in death by his wife Lucella (Sally) Jargo, a son Kenneth Jargo and his parents.
