Robert E. Griswold, age 84 of Quincy, Illinois formerly of Mount Carroll, Illinois died on Sunday, November 18, 2007 at the Illinois Veterans Home in Quincy. Cremation rites have been accorded and interment of his cremated remains will be in the Fulton Cemetery in Fulton, Illinois at a later date.
Robert was born on August 9, 1923, the only child of Harry and Ella (Birt) Griswold in Clinton, Iowa. He graduated from a Chicago area high school, and upon graduation he joined the United States Army and served from 1943 to 1946. Robert later moved to Mount Carroll, upon his mother’s death he moved to the Veterans Home in Quincy.
Robert is survived by several cousins and is preceded in death by his parents.
