Robert L Falls, age 65 of Thomson, IL passed away Thursday, July 11, 2019 at his home. Cremation rites have been accorded.
Robert was born April 23, 1954 at the old Hospital in Savanna, IL, the son of Robert E. and Mary (Rogers) Falls. He attended Thomson schools and graduated from Thomson Community High School with the Class of 1972.
Robert was employed by the Savanna Army Depot for most of his life. At the depot he worked as a security officer, and was the last person to “lock up” after the depot’s closing in 2000. Robert loved to solve word puzzles, especially the crosswords and cryptograms he would complete in local newspapers. He spent his evenings watching gameshows and westerns, and was an avid gun collector. On weekends Robert enjoyed doing handyman work with his cousin Jim. Additionally, Robert loved to cook, especially if he was trying a new recipe, or grilling out on a sunny summers day.
Robert will be dearly missed by his sister, Helen “Arly” Falls Lipscomb; his niece, Shannon Lipscomb; two aunts, and numerous cousins. Robert is preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Mary Falls.
