Richard Holm

Richard H. Holm, age 74, of Mt Carroll passed away on Monday, February 16, 2009 at the Central Dupage Hospital, Winfield, Illinois, following a short illness. A Funeral Service will be held 7:00 p.m. Thursday, February 19, 2009 at the Frank-Law-Jones Funeral Home, Mt. Carroll, Illinois. Visitation will be held from 3:00 – 7:00 p.m. Thursday at the Funeral Home, prior to the service. A Private Graveside Service will be held in Oak Hill Cemetery, Mt. Carroll. Richard was born on April 5,1934 in Davenport, Iowa to Harold and Minnie (Galitz) Holm, He attended Carroll County schools. Richard married Shirley Krippendorf on August 5, 1955. Richard farmed and owned Holm Trucking and Holm Septic Service for many years. Richard enjoyed attending auctions and having coffee with his cronies.Richard is survived by his wife Shirley of Mt. Carroll; a daughter Connie (Robert) Robbe of Texas; four sons Randy (Karen) Holm, James (Kristen) Holm, both of Mt Carroll, Thomas (Shirley) Holm, and William (Ada) Holm of Thomson; 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; a special friend Carson (Froggy) Rice; two brothers Ronald (Barbara) Holm of Mt Carroll, Bobby (Wanda) Holm of Missouri and one sister Betty (Eugene) Boyer of Mt Carroll. He was preceded in death by his parents; one son and 2 grandsons.
