Rhonda Dian Pieper, born December 30, 1956, in Savanna, IL, passed away on January 25, 2026 at FHN Hospital in Freeport, IL. Interment will take place at Evergreen Cemetery in Sabula, IA, this spring. A celebration of Rhonda’s life will be planned for February 15, at 1 p.m., at Manny’s Pizza, in Savanna. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
Rhonda was born to Raymond and Gladys (Vittitoe) Rieck, as the youngest of 13, and grew up attending school in Sabula, Iowa. She had a special love for gardening, especially flowers, and cherished time with her family above all else.
In her later years, Rhonda’s three cats became treasured companions. Their presence brought her comfort during the final years of her life. Rhonda was also an enthusiastic fan of the Jacksonville Jaguars and Adam Levine.
Rhonda is survived by three children, Crena (Jason) Hamilton, of Freeport, Justin Noble, of Orangeville, and Heather Dewey, of Orangeville; four grandchildren, Jasmine Dewey, Logan Dewey, Alexis Dewey, and Savannah Dewey; two great-grandchildren, Nevaeh and Iris; a brother, Bruce (Carol) Rieck; sisters, Rae Terrock, Ramona Lohberg, Shelba (David) Van Horn, and Lanette (Roger) Holmes; and many, many nieces and nephews. Rhonda is preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Gladys; brothers, James (Jeanne) Rieck, Larry Rieck, Frederick Rieck, Dennis Rieck, and an infant brother; and sisters, Linda Rieck and Kristeen Wright; and several nieces and nephews.
