Renee Bogue

Renee Bogue, age 83, of Savanna, Illinois, died Saturday, July 18, 2015 at Big Meadows Nursing Home, Savanna. A funeral service will be held at 12:00 Noon, Saturday, July 25, 2015 at the First United Methodist Church, Savanna. Burial will take place in Savanna Township Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10:00-12:00 Noon, prior to the funeral at the church.
Renee was born on July 7, 1932 in Savanna, the daughter of Harold and Blanche (Smith) Douglas. She attended Savanna High School with the Class of 1950. Renee married William Bogue on January 15, 1950 in Mt. Carroll, Illinois. They celebrated 32 years of marriage until Bill’s passing on April 12, 1982.
Renee and her husband owned and operated the Pool Hall and Rec Center in Savanna, and later owned and operated Bogue’s Shoe Store in Savanna for 27 years. She was a past member of the Savanna Chamber of Commerce. Renee loved wildlife, especially butterflies. She enjoyed dancing, listening to music, going out on the Mississippi River, and having her favorite drink, a Scotch and water.
Renee will be dearly missed by her three children, Greg and Tracey Bogue, both of Savanna, and Shannon (Kevin) Cooper of St. Charles, Illinois; three grandchildren, Sara Heldt, Adam Bogue and Jason Bogue; one great-granddaughter, Paige Armstrong; and one sister, Dena (Walt) Miller of Savanna.
Renee is preceded in death by her husband Bill; her parents, Harold “Ted” and Blanche; one brother, John “Jack” Douglas; and a sister Sal Salazar.
