Raymond "Tom" Adolph, age 77, of rural Morrison passed into the arms of God Thursday, October 24, 2013 while doing what he loved, farming. Tom's life was shaped by growing up on a family farm near Milledgeville. He attended the Fairhaven Country School and is a Chadwick High School graduate with the Class of 1954. Tom served in the US Army from 1955 - 1957. On September 1, 1955, he married Judy Lewis in the Fairhaven Church. They have celebrated 58 years of marriage.
Tom enjoyed going to car shows and auctions. He was an avid collector of clocks. Tom also liked to shoot trap. Most of all, Tom doted over his grandchildren, especially his" grandgirls." He was a member of the Mt. Carroll Church of God.
Tom is lovingly remembered by his wife Judy of Morrison; two sons, Tim (Ellen) Adolph of Chadwick and Dave (Renee) Adolph of Morrison; five grandchildren, Jenna and Hannah (Nathan) VonHolten, Alissa (Rob) Barajas, Justine (Matt) Reinhart, and Olivia Adolph; one great granddaughter, Adlee Marie Barajas; and two brothers, Vernon "Jr." (Darlene) Adolph of Milledgeville and Stan (Marge) Adolph of Sugar Grove. Tom is preceded in death by both of his parents, Vernon and Alice (Rippy) Adolph.
A funeral service will be held 3:00 p.m. Monday, October 28, 2013 at the Mt. Carroll Church of God, Mt. Carroll, Illinois with visitation prior to the service from 1:00 - 3:00 p.m. at the Church. Burial will be in North Clyde Cemetery, rural Morrison, with full Military Honors.
