Randy Paul Crandall, age 61, of Hanover, Illinois, died unexpectedly on Saturday, December 31, 2016 at home. Cremation rites will be accorded. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 4, 2017 at the Hanover United Presbyterian Church. A gathering will be held from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m., prior to the service, at the church. A memorial has been established in his memory.
Randy was born on February 19, 1955, the son of Paul and Annella (Jones) Crandall in Oelwein, Iowa. He attended Starmont Community High School in Strawberry Point, Iowa, graduating with the Class of 1973. He attended several colleges and universities before obtaining his Bachelor Degree in Business Administration. Randy was a “jack of all trades” and worked for various places and operated several businesses. He really enjoyed working in food service and managing restaurants. Randy also loved building computers and spending time online. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing. Most of all, Randy cherished spending time with his family.
Randy is survived by his mother, Annella Crandall of Hanover; one brother, Steven Crandall of Hanover; one sister, Karla (Steve) Waltner of Chesapeake, Virginia; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Randy was preceded in death by his father, Paul Crandall.
