Randall L. Houzenga

Randall L. Houzenga, 62, of Chadwick, Illinois, died Saturday, March 6, 2010 at his home. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, March 11, 2010, at the Frank – Law – Jones Funeral Home in Mount Carroll, Illinois. Cremation rites will follow the service. Visitation will be held from 5 – 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 10, also at Frank – Law – Jones Funeral Home in Mount Carroll. Memorials may be directed to the Hospice of Rock River Valley.
Randall was born August 16, 1947, in Chadwick, the son of John and Inez Houzenga. After graduating from Chadwick High School, Randall served in the United States Army during Vietnam. He married Karla Melby on October 17, 1975. Randall farmed in the Prophetstown, Illinois, and Chadwick area. He loved his work and enjoyed being in the field whenever possible.
Randall is survived and lovingly remembered by his wife Karla Houzenga of Chadwick, Illinois; one daughter, Sara Houzenga of Lanark, Illinois; two sons, Luke (Shawna) Houzenga of Mount Carroll, Illinois, and Jake Houzenga of Lanark; five sisters, Joan (Kenneth) Rahn of Chadwick, Patricia Nyland of California, Charlotte (Allen) Rahn of Chadwick, Eileen (Gary) Spaulding of Chadwick, and Denise (Dale) Queckenboerner of Chadwick; one sister – in – law, Carolyn Huizenga of Morrison, Illinois; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Randall was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Gordon Houzenga.
