Ralph M. McCue, age 79, of Savanna, Illinois, died Tuesday, December 18, 2007, peacefully at home. Funeral Services will be held, 11:00 a.m. Thursday, December 20, 2007 at the Law-Jones Funeral Home, Savanna with Father Dennis Atto of St. John The Baptist Catholic Church, Savanna, officiating. Burial will be in St. John Catholic Cemetery, Savanna. Friends may call from 9:00-11:00 a.m. Thursday, prior to the service at the Funeral Home. A Memorial fund has been established in Ralph’s name.
Ralph was born February 23, 1928, the son of Thomas and Pearl (Koehler) McCue in Savanna. He attended Savanna area schools. He served in the United States Army. On April 14, 1952, Ralph married Cecelia C. Wagner. Ralph worked at the Savanna Army Depot, as a Munitions Handler, retiring in 1987.
Ralph very much enjoyed spending time with his family. He was known as stern but, loving. As an adult, Ralph developed closeness to the Lord. He enjoyed reading, hunting and fishing.
Ralph will be dearly missed by his wife, Cecelia of Savanna; one son, Terry McCue of Savanna; one daughter, Elaine Neumiller of Davenport, Iowa; three grandchildren; Christina (Aaron) Neumiller of Davenport; Staff Sgt. Justin (Becky) Neumiller of Colorado Springs, Colorado “presently serving in Iraq; Christopher (Ashley) Neumiller of Davenport; two great grandsons, Malachi and Raymond; one brother, Virgil (Betty) McCue of Savanna; two sisters, Mildred Etnyre of Lanark, Illinois and Norma Merkle of Chadwick, Illinois.
Ralph is preceded in death by his parents and an infant brother.
