Quinn Whitney Bethel, age 42, of Edwardsburg, Michigan, passed away at home, Wednesday, August 8, 2007, following a brief illness. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 18, 2007 at the Hope United Methodist Church, 69941 Elkhart Road, Edwardsburg, Michigan. A Visitation will be in the church from 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. on Friday, August 17, 2007. Memorials may be made to the Center for Hospice and Palliative Care, 111 Sunnybrook Ct. South Bend, IN 46637.
Quinn Whitney Sarver was born October 14, 1964, the daughter of James Sarver and Judy Jones Sarver in Huntington, West Virginia; the beloved granddaughter of the late, June Horseman of Shelbyville, Illinois; and the loved wife of Scott Bethel of Edwardsburg. She and Scott were married on July 10, 1999 in Chicago, Illinois. They are the parents of two beautiful daughters, Zoey and Serena.
Quinn graduated from Urbana High School, Urbana, Illinois with the Class of 1982. She attended and graduated from Ivy Tech Community College of Indiana and Southwestern Michigan College where she received a degree in Nursing . For twenty years, Quinn worked as a Home Health Care Nurse, most recently she was enjoying being at home with her family.
Quinn loved to read! She volunteered at her daughter's school every Thursday. She was interested and participated in the Hospice Grief Art Therapy. She loved to take her family to the beach on Lake Michigan. One of the sweetest traits Quinn possessed, was that she loved to play with all the kids and loved to be with people and make them happy.
Quinn leaves her loving husband, Scott and beloved daughters, Zoey Frost and Serena Bethel at home; her mother, Dr. Judy Jones PHD and partner, Amy Crafts of Henniker, New Hampshire; her father, James (Linda) Sarver of Koontz Lake, Indiana; a sister, Sydney (Troy) Bontrager of Elkhart, Indiana; a brother, Sean Sarver of Conway, South Carolina; two uncles, Tracy (Cindy) Jones of Mead, Colorado and Howard Sarver of Naples, Florida; stepbrothers, James (Dawn) Christie of Walkerton, Indiana and Tim (Lee) Christie of Suwannee, Georgia; nieces, Mackenzie, Sylvia and Morgan; nephews, Sean, Seth and Jordan; special cousins, Reverend Michael (Janis) Jones of Stockton, Illinois, Mark Jones and partner, Brad Maury of Chicago, Illinois, Matthew (Lisa) Jones of Mt. Carroll, Illinois and Maury (Susan) Jones of Brookfield, Illinois and Aunts, Jean Jones (John LeComte) of Savanna, Illinois, Margery (Dwayne) Eversole and Betty (Herman) Spar all of Shelbyville, Illinois; many friends and a special friend, Michelle Solois of Edwardsburg.
Quinn will be dearly missed by many people. She was a cherished mother, wife, daughter, a loyal sister, and ardent friend. Quinn was a good listener and counselor to those in need. She was selfless and sweet. Quinn was the "sunshine" in so many lives, a bright and vibrant woman whose time with those who loved her ended too soon. She leaves behind many happy memories.
Quinn is preceded in death by her grandparents, Mason and June Horseman and Gale and Frances Sarver; uncles, Melvin Jones, Bruce Sarver and Morris Sarver.
