Phyllis Schaible

Phyllis Schaible, age 90, of Elizabeth, Illinois, died Monday, September 19, 2011, at the Elizabeth Nursing Home, Elizabeth. Cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, September 23, 2011 at Law-Jones Funeral Home, Elizabeth. Burial will take place in Evergreen Cemetery, Hanover. A gathering will be held for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to the Elizabeth Nursing Home in Phyllis’s memory.
Phyllis was born October 21, 1920, the daughter of Thomas “Bud” and Eleanor (Potter) Turner in Hanover, Illinois. She attended Hanover High School and Brown’s Business College in Freeport, Illinois. Phyllis married Marion Schaible on October 27, 1966. Marion died March 16, 2007. Phyllis worked for National Lock and later worked for the Eaton Corporation for over twenty years. Phyllis was a member of the United Methodist Church in Elizabeth. She enjoyed Ballroom Dancing, reading and sewing.
Phyllis is survived by her son, Gary Schap of Elizabeth, Illinois; one step-daughter, Helen Kilgore of Elizabeth; four grandchildren; three great grandchildren; one nephew, Ron DeFranco of San Diego, California; and one special friend Nancy Walker of Elizabeth.
Phyllis is preceded in death by her husband, Marion; one sister, Jessie DeFranco; one step-daughter, Ruth Fosler and one stepson, Harvey Schaible.
