Peter J. Sedivy, age 66, of Savanna, Illinois, died Friday, January 26, 2007 at his home. Cremation rites will be accorded and a memorial service will be held at the Bagley Cemetery in Bagley, Wisconsin at a later date. Memorials may be directed to the Savanna Veteran's of Foreign Wars, Post # 2223 in Peter's memory.
Peter was born on June 11, 1940 the son of Peter F. and Olive B. (Hartline) Sedivy in Prarie Du Chien, Wisconsin. He graduated from Savanna High School in 1958 and later attended college in Platteville, Wisconsin. He served eight years in the U.S. Army, spending two tours of duty in Vietnam. He was stationed in Da Nang as a Radar Repairman. He received a Certificate of Achievement for recognition of meritorious performance of duty. Peter was a member of the Savanna V.F.W. He worked for Agrico Fertilizer Plant in Fulton, Illinois; he also worked for the Eaton Corporation and the Swiss Colony in Savanna, Illinois. Peter loved to read and also enjoyed watching movies.
Peter is survived by his mother, Olive; two brothers, Chuck (Kerry) Sedivy of Hanover, Illinois and Bill (Jayne) Sedivy of Thomson, Illinois; one sister Alice (Darold) Austin of Galesburg, Illinois; eight nephews and four nieces. Peter was preceded in death by his father.
