Peter "Pete" Joseph Eiteuner

Peter “Pete” Joseph Eiteuner, age 70, of Mt. Carroll, Illinois lived his life putting his faith in God, Family, Country and Community. He was always volunteering and finding a way to help others. Pete died suddenly of natural causes Wednesday, August 29, 2012 at home in Mt. Carroll. He leaves behind his wife, Claudia; his daughter, Laura Eiteuner (Scott Amrhein) of St.Louis, MO; his son, Mark (Mary) Eiteuner of Dayton, OH; two grandchildren, Joanna and Peter Schommer; two sisters, Evelyn (Frances) Nett of Milton, WI and Mary Eiteuner of Larson, WI; and his brother, Thomas (Beatrice) Eiteuner of Van Dyne, WI. Pete is preceded in death by both parents.
Pete was born September 19, 1941, in Fond du Lac, WI, the son of Franklin and Agnes (Bauer) Eiteuner. He is a graduate of the LP Goodrich High School in Fond du Lac. Pete enlisted in the US Air Force on October 21, 1959. He served four years as an Aircraft Mechanic, spanning the time of the Cuban Missile Crisis. On February 1, 1964, Pete married his sweetheart, Claudia E. Cartwright in Fond du Lac. They have celebrated 48 years of marriage.
Pete worked over 32 years as a Railroad Conductor for the Canadian Pacific Railroad, retiring in 2002. He was a member of SS. John & Catherine Catholic Church of Mt. Carroll, the Parish Council, Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus, and represented the Church in the Mt. Carroll Ministerial Association. He also served on the Mt. Carroll Community Development Corporation and is a past member of the Mt. Carroll City Council.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 a.m., Monday, September 3, 2012 at SS. John & Catherine Catholic Church, Mt. Carroll. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Mt. Carroll. With full Military Rites by the Mt. Carroll American Legion, Post #67. Visitation will be held 4:00-8:00 p.m., Sunday, September 2, 2012 at the Church.
