Peter "Pete" A. Spinoso

Peter “Pete” Andrew Spinoso age 88, of Savanna, Illinois died Saturday, October 31, 2015, at Mercy Medical Center North in Clinton, Iowa. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, November 5, 2015 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Savanna with Father Dennis Atto as Celebrant. Burial of ashes will take place in St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery in Savanna at a later date. A visitation will be held from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, November 5, 2015 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Savanna.
Pete was born July 12, 1927, the son of Peter and Jean (Grippando) Spinoso in Savanna. He attended Savanna High School with the Class of 1946. Pete enlisted in the United States Army and honorably served his country during WWII. On August 1, 1953, Pete married the love of his life Dorothy Craig. They celebrated 62 years together. Pete then went to work for the Milwaukee Railroad and the Soo Line as a Railroad Clerk and a Bridge Operator for 43 years.
Pete was a member of the American Legion and the Knights of Columbus. Pete was a lifelong member of the St. John the Baptist Catholic Church where he performed many duties and was always available to help in any way he could. He enjoyed talking and being with people.
Pete will be dearly missed by his wife, Dorothy of Savanna. Pete was preceded in death by two brothers, Carl and Anthony and a sister, Mary Ann Vitello.
