Pearl Elaine Grove

Pearl Elaine Grove, age 80 of Lanark, Illinois passed away Saturday, October 16, 2021 at Allure of Mt. Carroll Nursing Center. A Celebration of Life service will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 20, 2021 at Law-Jones Eastland, Lanark. Visitation will be held 9:30 -11:00 a.m. prior to the service. Pearl was born July 26, 1941 in Freeport, the daughter of Levi and Mildred (Larson) Endress. She grew up near Kent and attended Pearl City High School. On August 23, 1959, Pearl married Larry Arthur Grove. They raised two sons, Rody and Troy, and celebrated 46 years of marriage. Larry passed away July 2, 2006.
Pearl believed in working hard, she spent 33 years as a sheet Metal worker for Elkay in Lanark and 11 years working for Honeywell in Freeport. When she wasn’t working, Pearl enjoyed being home, doing yardwork, gardening, or watching QVC. She especially liked watching the cooking show, In the Kitchen with David. Pearl and Larry liked going out to eat, visiting the old supper clubs in the area. Pearl was quiet and reserved while Larry had the gift of gab. In that way they were like oil and vinegar, but when mixed were pretty good.
Pearl put a lot of stock in her close friends, she treasured the time they had together. All throughout life Pearl had grit and was a fighter, she especially showed that while going through the tough times in life.
She will be dearly missed by her two sons, Rody (Lois) Grove of Lanark and Troy (JaneAnn Miller) Grove of Freeport; four grandchildren, Kody (Kelsey) Grove, Karlie Grove, Brandyn (Paige) Grove and Hillary Grove; two great-grandchildren, Camden (6) and Logan (2); a brother, Merle (Karen) Endress of Chitek, Wisconsin; two sisters-in-law, Sally Grove and Shirley Endress; a brother-in-law, Cliff Flowers; seventeen nieces and nephews, Rhonda Anderson, David Endress, Brenda Williams, Todd Endress, Steve Endress, Shari Trebes, Jay Endress, Janice Belanger, Coray Grove, Chad Grove, Curt Grove, Robin Woods, Tammy Hernandez, Mike Miller, Roger Miller, Donna Mahnken and Kristi Flowers.
Pearl is preceded in death by her husband, Larry; two brothers, Richard and Murnice Endress; one sister-in-law, Rena Flowers; two brothers-in-law, Donald (Jan) Grove and Gerald Grove; and two nephews, Denny Endress and Don Grove, Jr.
