Paulette Kay Hamilton, age 77, of Savanna, IL, passed away Friday, February 18, 2022 at MercyOne Hospital in Clinton, IA. Cremation rites have been accorded. A family memorial gathering will be held on a later date. Family and friends are invited to share in Paulette’s life at lawjonesfuneralhome.com.
Paulette was born September 4, 1944 in Morrison, IL, the daughter of William and Edith (McDonald) Hamm. She attended Thomson, IL schools. On December 10, 1960, Paulette married Lloyd F. Hamilton, Jr.
Paulette worked as a CNA at Wyndcrest and Mercy Hospital. She also worked for Elkay in Hanover, IL for a number of years, as well as for the Savanna School District. But her most important job was that of a loving homemaker, wife, and mother.
Family was always of the utmost importance to Paulette. She was a bit of a worry wart; always wanting to know exactly what each of her kids and grandkids were doing in any given day, but it was evident to her family that this came from a place of love and adoration. In her free time she enjoyed coloring on her ipad and playing cards, especially euchre; and a scratch off ticket could always put a smile on her face.
Paulette will be dearly missed by her children, Brenda Byers, Brian (Jennifer) Hamilton, and Bret Hamilton; grandchildren, Jessica (Jared Gluesing) O’Dell, Erin (Justin Seitz) Byers, Brittani (Kyle) Schroeder, Brianna Byers, Kendra Byers, Caitlin Hamilton, Clayton (Allison) Hamilton, Riley Hamilton, and Shawna Hamilton; great-grandchildren, Aubrey, Emily, Karissa, and Maddisen O’Dell, Grace Lee Seitz, Kyle, Karter and Ily Schroeder, Ah’dreyanna Goode; sisters, Clara Bauer, Shirley Reiland, and Bette Dellinger; as well as many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd F. Hamilton, Jr.; son, Lloyd F. Hamilton III; parents, William and Edith; father and mother-in-law, Lloyd F. and Mae Hamilton, Sr.; great granddaughter, Scarlett O. Sapp; and many other loved ones and family.
