Paul Thulen

Paul Thulen, age 51, of Savanna passed away Monday, April 29, 2013 at Provena St. Joseph Hospital, Elgin, Illinois. A funeral service will be held 3:00 p.m. Sunday, May 5, 2013 at the Law-Jones Funeral Home, Savanna. Burial will be in the Savanna Township Cemetery. Visitation will be held from Noon – 3:00 p.m. Sunday, just prior to the service. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given in honor of Paul.
Paul was born December 3, 1961 in Savanna, the son of Wayne and ElRose (Atkins) Thulen. He enjoyed sports in Savanna High School and is a 1980 graduate. Paul worked over twenty years for the City of Savanna as a laborer. For the past few years he has worked delivering the Clinton Herald Newspaper.
Paul enjoyed the art of texting, scrapping, and watching the Chicago Bears and Cubs. He especially loved spending time with his grandchildren.
Paul will be dearly missed by his daughter, Christina Paisley of Savanna; two grandsons, Mason Payne and Zachariah; a special friend, Kimberly Goutty of Savanna; and six brothers and sisters, Bill (Ginnie) Thulen of Savanna, Elsie (Edward) Haring of Shannon, Linda (Sam) Eley of Mosinee, Wisconsin, Robert Thulen of Savanna, Kathy Thulen of Savanna and David (Brenda) Thulen of Savanna. Paul is preceded in death by his brother, Mike, and both parents.
