Paul Griffin Shores, age 65, of Savanna, Illinois, died on October 4, 2017, 2015 at Genesis Medical Center, Davenport, Iowa. A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, October 9, 2017 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Savanna with Father Moises Apostol as Celebrant. Visitation will be held 9:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m., Monday, October 9, 2017 at the Law-Jones Funeral Home, Savanna. A memorial fund has been established in Paul's memory.
Paul was born May 6, 1952 in Savanna, Illinois, the son of Harold “Buck” and Mildred “Jimmie” (Collins) Shores. He is a 1970 graduate of the Savanna High School, where he enjoyed being part of the school band.
After high school, Paul worked at Eaton Corporation in Savanna, then went to school in Des Moines, Iowa. He lived in Colorado for a short time, and then after traveling to Idaho, decided to make McCall, Idaho his home. Paul enjoyed his work repairing and tuning skis in the winter, and outdoor work at a golf course and ranch in the summer months. He spent time fishing and learning to play the mandolin. He loved visiting friends and family back home in Savanna, and loved when his parents would make their yearly trip to Idaho.
Paul will be dearly missed by his mother, Mildred “Jimmie” Shores of Savanna. Paul was preceded in death by his brother, David Kent Shores in 1972; and his father, Harold “Buck” Shores in 2015.
