Kenneth “Paul” Ritenour devoted to his country, community and being the best father and grandfather he could be. At the age of 90, Paul passed away at Mercy Medical Center North on Monday, January 27, 2014.
Paul was born on August 17, 1923, the son of William J. and Effie M. (Nesbitt) Ritenour in Hampshire, Illinois. He graduated from Onslow High School with the Class of 1942. Paul enlisted in the United States Marine Corp and served in the South Pacific during World War II. He worked for Cargill Nutrena Feeds in Mt. Pleasant for over twenty years.
Paul was a member of the United Presbyterian Church in Miles, Iowa. He was a lifetime member of the American Legion Post #602 in Preston and the Am-Vets Post. Paul enjoyed reading, traveling and using his computer. Most of all, Paul, enjoyed being with his family and grandchildren.
Paul will be dearly missed by his daughter, Paulette Trubey (Tony) of Denver, Colorado; two sons, Terry Ritenour of Arvada, Colorado, Bill (Donna) Ritenour of Minneapolis, Minnesota; six grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and a brother, Jerald (Camilla) Ritenour of Preston, Iowa. He is preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Phyllis Risk.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, January 31, 2014 at the United Presbyterian Church in Miles. Visitation will be held from 11:00 – 1:00 p.m. Friday, January 31, 2014 at the church prior to the service. Military Rites will be accorded by the Preston American Legion Post #602.
