Patricia J Lehnhardt

Patricia “Patsy” J. Lehnhardt age 71, of Savanna, Illinois passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, November 23, 2017. A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 29, 2017 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Savanna. Burial will take place at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, November 30, 2017 at St. John Cemetery in Adair, Iowa. Visitation will be held from 4:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, November 28, 2017 at Law-Jones Funeral Home in Savanna, with a Rosary Service being held at 4:00 p.m., prior to the visitation. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to the Savanna Historical Society and the Service Club in Patsy’s memory.

Patsy was born on March 5, 1946 in Adair, the daughter of James R. and Eleanor M. (Griffin) Lydon. She attended Adair High School and later graduated from Iowa State University with the Class of 1964. Patsy married the love of her life, Lewis Lehnhardt on June 13, 1970. They have celebrated 47 years of marriage. Patsy worked for the Savanna School District C.U.D. 300 and taught Spanish for 34 years, retiring in 2001.

Patsy was a member of the Delta Kappa Gamma, Women’s Teacher Honorary Society, Savanna Service Club, Savanna Historical Society, the Ladies of St. John’s and the Galena Wine Club. She enjoyed reading, playing bridge, traveling, golfing. Most of all, Patsy treasured the time she spent with her family.

Patsy will be dearly missed by her loving husband of 47 years, Lewis; son and daughter in-law, Jason and Kara Lehnhardt of Gurnee, Illinois; daughter, Dr. Teresa Lehnhardt of Raleigh, North Carolina; two grandchildren, Alaina and Lydon and a brother, Michael (Molly) Lydon of Ankeny, Iowa. Patsy was preceded in death by an infant sister, Carol, both parents and a great nephew, Nicholas.
