Patricia Ann Anderson

Patricia Anderson was always happy and smiling, especially when friends and family visited. At the age 81, Patricia passed away Monday, November 27, 2023 at MercyOne Hospital in Clinton, Iowa. A Funeral Mass will be held 11am Friday, December 1, 2023 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Savanna, Illinois. Burial will be in Lower York Cemetery, Thomson. Visitation will be held 9 – 11am Friday at Law Jones Funeral Home in Savanna prior to the Mass, Friday, December 1, 2023.
Patricia was born April 15, 1942 in Clinton, the daughter of Joseph and Juanita (Huling) Sterbenz. She is a 1960 Savanna High School graduate. While growing up the family lived in Savanna and Green Island, Iowa. On December 10, 1960, Patricia married Carl Junior Anderson at St. John’s Catholic Church in Savanna. They raised three children, Carl, Jesse and Pat, and celebrated 52 years of marriage before Carl’s passing in 2013.
Patricia always enjoyed the simple things in life, like getting together with family and friends for a cookout and family celebration. She loved when the grandkids were around, and when they were young she enjoyed taking them on long bike rides. Being with family and friends made her “bubbly,” so much so that her grandkids remember her dancing with them to the song “Wipeout” by the Beach Boys.
Patricia retired in 1997 from working at GE in Morrison, and also used her talents doing hair from her shop at home called Pat’s Curvey Curl. She was creative and had a natural ability to draw people and landscapes. She also enjoyed playing crossword puzzles and Soduko.
Patricia will be dearly missed by her three children, Carl Jay Anderson of Savanna, Jesse Anderson of Thomson and Pat (Robert) Foster of Thomson; five grandchildren; and two sisters, Verna Stage of Fulton and Donna Peterson of Sabula, Iowa.
Patricia is preceded in death by her husband, Carl; two granddaughters, Sonya at 18 and Jessica at birth; a brother Don; and three sisters, Nita Jackson, Barb Foster and Mary Fahlen; and both parents.
