Kissimmee, Florida. — Opal Mary Miller, age 93, of Kissimmee Florida, previously of Savanna, Illinois died Monday, March 29, 2010 at the Osceola Health Care Center, St. Cloud, Florida. A funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday, April 5, 2010 at the Law-Jones Funeral Home, Savanna, with Reverend Michael Wey of the First Presbyterian Church officiating. Burial will be in Savanna Township Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.

Opal was born August 30, 1916 near Cowden, Shelby County, Illinois. She was the daughter of Ike and Eliza (Forquer) Fowler. On November 30, 1952, Opal married Wilbur L. Miller in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. They made their home in Savanna. Wilbur and Opal were married almost 25 years until his death on July 7, 1977 in Savanna. Opal remained in the Savanna community until 1995 when she moved to Florida in order to be close to family.

Opal enjoyed family gatherings and the time she spent with grandchildren. While in Savanna, she was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and the Ladies Card Club. She worked as a housekeeper for the Savanna City Hospital. Since 1995, Opal has been a member of the Delaney Street Baptist Church, Orlando, Florida. Opal also enjoyed dancing, traveling, camping and reading.

Opal will be dearly missed by her daughter, Debra (Thomas) Gramer of Kissimmee, Florida; three grandchildren; four great grandchildren; a brother, Leslie (Des) Fowler of Ormand Beach, Florida; a sister in-law, Helen Fowler of Richland Center, Wisconsin; and a brother in-law, Allen Miller of Savanna. She is preceded in death by her husband; both parents; two brothers, William and Ike; two sisters, Bernice and Ethel; and a granddaughter, Charity Ann.
