Norman Lee Dengler, age 73, of Galena, Illinois, died on Tuesday, May 10, 2011, at his home. According to his wishes Cremation Rites have been accorded. A memorial mass will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, May 14, 2011 at St. Mary Catholic Church, Elizabeth with Father Noel Jacob and Father Chris Kuhn as Celebrants. A memorial gathering will be held from 10:00-11:00 a.m., prior to the service at the church. Memorials may be given to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, 525 West Monroe Street, Chicago, Illinois 60661 in Norman’s memory.
Norman was born on September 26, 1937, the son of Reinhold and Esther (Kohlhoff) in Chicago, Illinois. He attended Proviso East High School and graduated with the Class of 1955. Norman married Joann Rosinski on September 5, 1959 in Elmwood Park, Illinois.
Norman was a Lithographer for Lehigh Press. Norman and his wife, Joann were members of St. Mary Catholic Church, Elizabeth. He enjoyed working with his hands and loved woodworking. Norman was also an avid Chicago Cubs and Bears fan. Most of all, Norman cherished spending time with his family and friends.
Norman will be dearly missed by his wife, Joann; two daughters, Kimberley (Thomas) Piers of Lake Zurich, Illinois and Cathy (Jim Swietek) Welsh of Hoffman Estates, Illinois and four grandchildren, Jacqueline (Chad) Osmer, Adam Welsh, Garrett Piers and Caitlyn Welsh. Norman was preceded in death by his parents.
