Norma D. Egbert, age 85, of Hanover, Illinois, passed away at home after a recent decline in health, on Wednesday, February 15, 2023. A Graveside Service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, April 20, 2023, at Log Church Cemetery near Hanover, Illinois.
Norma was born on July 13, 1937, in Elizabeth, Illinois to the late Joseph and Blanche (Miller) Thompson. She graduated from Hanover High School class of 1956. On April 20, 1957, she married Robert B. Egbert, (of Ten Sleep, Wyoming,) at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Hanover, Illinois. They raised a daughter, Laura, and celebrated 25 years of marriage before Robert’s passing in 1982.
Norma enjoyed and took pride in mowing her yard, on her rider, until the age of 84. She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Hanover.
She will be dearly missed by her daughter, Laura Rivera of Hanover, and her beloved dog Lucy.
She was preceded in death by both parents; her husband, Robert; her son-in-law, Michael Rivera; her sister, Joyce (Thompson) Apsley; and her brother-in-law, Ken Apsley.
The family gives thanks and gratitude to FHN Hospice staff who made Norma’s last wish of staying home possible.
