Nora F. Johnson

Nora F. Johnson, age 59, of Savanna, Illinois, died on Tuesday, November 16, 2010 at her home. Cremation rites have been accorded. A Memorial Gathering will be held from 3:00 - 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 21, 2010 at Law-Jones Funeral Home, Savanna. A Memorial Fund has been established in Nora’s memory. Nora was born on January 19, 1951, the daughter of Hilda Russell in Kokomo, Indiana. She was raised by her grandparents, Eddna and John Marshner. Nora attended school in Sandwich, Illinois and recently earned her GED in 2007. Nora married Dennis R. Johnson on October 3, 1967 in Sandwich.
Nora was a homemaker who treasured taking care of her family. Nora also worked for Pamida, Inc. in Sandwich, Illinois. Her love of horses shown through in her paintings for which she won ribbons at the Sandwich fair. She moved to Savanna, Illinois in 2005 to be closer to her daughter, Tracy. Nora enjoyed fishing, taking pictures, spending time with her family when she could and continuing her education, which was very important to her. She was proud of her accomplishments, as were her family and friends.
Nora will be dearly missed by three daughters; Donna (Doug) Reiss of Somonauk, Kristie (Ken) Stevenson of Alberta, Canada, and Tracy Conroy of Savanna; seven grandchildren, Kaitie and Daniel Reiss, Emilie and Taylor Stevenson, and Steven, Andrew and Liz Conroy. Nora was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents.
