Nona M. Irvine, age 61, of Savanna, Illinois died Tuesday, November 8, 2011 at her home in Savanna, Illinois. A visitation will be held 12:00 - 3:00p.m., Saturday, November 12, 2011 at the Law-Jones Funeral Home, Savanna with a graveside service to follow in Savanna Township Cemetery. Pastor Gary Abney will officiate.
Nona was born February 19, 1950, the daughter of Earl and Hazel (Eakins) Galloway in Matthews, Missouri. On May 5, 1968 she married Robert Irvine in Chicago.
Nona worked for Rolling Hills Progress Center in Lanark, Illinois for many years. Nona also provided in-home care and worked at the Savanna Marina Restaurant. She was a member of the Savanna Women of the Moose.
Nona loved family get-togethers and spending time with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed crafting, bingo, lawn mower racing, going to the beach, and she had a passion for horses.
Nona will be dearly missed by three daughters, Anna Irvine of Savanna, Donna (Steve Tiedge) Irvine of Deltona, Florida and Denise (Thomas) Carr of Savanna; two sons, Robert Irvine, Jr. of Deltona, Florida and Donald (Sharon) Irvine of Savanna; one sister, Evelyn Cummings of Sanford, Florida; one brother, James (Julia) Galloway of Owensboro, Kentucky; fifteen grandchildren, Nicole, Joseph, Kristopher, Ashley, Amanda, Jessica, Joshua, Justin, Nikki, Aaron, Jennifer, Krystallynn, LeAnn, Krystina, Steffany; three great grandchildren, Izac, HailyAnn, Andriana; four step-brothers, Michael, John, Lenny and Jimmy Capps; and all her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert, Sr.; one daughter, Nancy; one grandson, Peter, Jr. and one brother, Dennis.
