Noel Chico

Noel Chico age 76, of Savanna, Illinois passed away Saturday, August 18, 2018 at the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City, Iowa. A memorial service will be held at 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, September 2, 2018 at Law-Jones Funeral Home in Savanna. A memorial visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. – 4:30 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. A memorial fund has been established in Noel’s memory.

Noel was born on April 17, 1942 in San Juan, Puerto Rico the son of Augustine and Juanita Perez Vega. Noel honorably served in the United States Army during the Korean War and the Vietnam War. Noel worked as a tool and dye maker in Chicago, Illinois for many years. Noel also worked for Neumiller Farm’s in Savanna for many years.

Noel married Lucy Guereca on January 6, 1968 in Chicago. They celebrated 37 years together. Lucy passed away November 18, 2005. Noel later married Sharon Padget on July 23, 2011 in Mt. Carroll, Illinois.

Noel attend the First Baptist Church in Mt. Carroll. He enjoyed doing wood work, painting and tinkering with anything automotive. Noel always made sure that he stayed busy. Most of all Noel, cherished the time he spent with his family.

Noel will be dearly missed by his wife, Sharon Padget-Chico; two sons, Steve Chico of Clinton, Iowa, Daniel (Sharon) Chico of Savanna; daughter, Juanita Chico Fink of Murfreesboro, Tennessee; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Noel was preceded in death by his, wife, Lucy, both parents and a brother, Abisai Chico.
