Noel Lee Arbuckle., age 73, of Savanna, Illinois, died Wednesday, April 12, 2006, at his home. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, April 15, 2006 at the Law-Jones Funeral Home in Savanna, Illinois. Reverend Gary Abney of the New Hope Assembly of God Church, Savanna, Illinois will officiate. Burial will take place in the Savanna Township Cemetery, Savanna, Illinois. Friends may call from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Friday, April 14, 2006 at the Funeral Home. A memorial fund has been established in Noel’s name. Noel was born January 22, 1933 in Kansas City, Missouri, the son of William F. and Edith L. (Dunlap) Arbuckle Sr. He married Ruth J. Burgess on November 21, 1952 in Mount Carroll, Illinois. Ruth died on November 28, 1984 at her daughters home in Round Lake Heights, Illinois. Noel worked with his father on the wrecking crew for the Milwaukee Railroad for many years. He later worked for Savanna Fabricators and then the Eaton Corporation in Savanna, Illinois. He also served as a security guard at Powerlab in Savanna, IL. He loved helping out the Savanna V.F.W. as a driver for the Veteran’s Transport Bus and also enjoyed spending time at the V.F.W. with all of his friends that he had made throughout the years. Noel was a quiet and generous man who loved his family very much. Shortly before his death, he told his children that he loved them and asked God’s blessing on them all. He told them that he loved God with all his heart and was ready to go be with God and his wife. Noel will be dearly missed by his two sons; Noel A. (Kay) Arbuckle of Verona, Wisconsin and Michael L. (Mindy) Arbuckle of Fort Dodge, Iowa; three daughters, Susan (Gerald) Thompson of Queen City, Missouri, Sallie (Mark) Jones of Mundelein, Illinois and Sheryl (Ed) McKeal of Queen City, Missouri; one brother, William Arbuckle and one sister, Norma Merdith; eleven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.Noel is preceded in death by his wife, Ruth, and one brother, Ronald Rae.
