Neal Edward Maring

Neal Edward Maring, age 86 formerly of Chadwick, Illinois, died Wednesday, April 19, 2006 at his daughters home in Frisco, Texas. A Memorial Service will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 28, 2006 at the Fairhaven United Methodist Church rural Chadwick, Illinois. Friends may call 5:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday, April 27, 2006 at the Law-Jones Funeral Home. Chadwick, Illinois. A Memorial Fund has been established at the Fairhaven United Methodist Church in Chadwick, Illinois. Neal was born September 21, 1919, the son of Carl & Emma Maring in Fairhaven Township, Carroll County, Illinois. He attended elementary school in Carroll County and began farming with his father in rural Chadwick in 1940. In 1942, he married Henrietta Sikkema and they lived on their farm for over sixty years before recently moving to Frisco, Texas to live with their daughter, Lana (Robert) Richardson.

Neal was a member of the Fairhaven Methodist Church, the Carroll County Farm Bureau and a life member of the Chadwick Masonic Lodge. He was an avid fisherman. Neal and Henrietta were members of the Oakville Country Club where they enjoyed many years of golfing. They traveled to the Rio Grande Valley in Alamo, Texas and spent twenty-six winters there.

Neal will be deeply missed by his wife, Henrietta; one sister, Faye Mendheim of Ennis, Texas; one son, Neal Jerry (Jane) Maring of Sycamore, Illinois; one daughter, Lana (Robert) Richardson of Frisco, Texas; three grandchildren, Randy (Christy) Richardson of Oronogo, Missouri; Tamara (Dan) Redington of Frisco, Texas and Brent Maring of Algonquin, Illinois; eight great-grandchildren, Russel, Carter and Coralyn Richardson; Justin, Kyle, Connor, Marissa and Cole Redington. His parents precede him in death.
