Nancy Jo Wildman, age 76, of Savanna, IL, passed away on September 23, 2025, in her home. A memorial service will be held at Law Jones Funeral Home, in Savanna, on Thursday, October 2, at 4 p.m. Visitation will take place from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., before the service.
Nancy was born May 2, 1949, in Mt. Pleasant, IA, the daughter of Donald and Josephine (Scully) Beemblossom. She grew up in Shoals, IN, graduating from Shoals High School with the class of 1967. She then studied for a time at Vincennes College, before marrying John Ervin, in 1970, at St. Mary Catholic Church, in Shoals.
Nancy and John soon moved to Colorado, where he was stationed at U.S. Army Fort Carson, then to Germany for his next station. Following their divorce, Nancy moved home to Shoals, where she worked for a number of years at her father’s Doctor’s Office.
In 1983, Nancy married Ed Wildman, and the couple made their way to Savanna in 1989, when Ed started work at the Savanna Army Depot. Here in Savanna, Nancy worked for nearly 15 years at Swiss Colony, and made Savanna her forever-home.
Nancy loved to cook and was famous for her stew and monster cookies; you couldn’t help but come back for seconds of both! She held an appreciation for music, playing Christian songs on her organ, and listening to her favorites from Elvis and the Beetles, respectively. And during those relaxing family times, she loved to reminisce about the good old days on her childhood family farm.
Nancy will be dearly missed by her four children, Missy (Chris) Hartman, of Savanna, Phillip (Katrina) Ervin, of Fulton, IL, Jay Ervin, of Charleston, SC, and Todd (Jessica) Ervin, of Savanna; 11 grandchildren, Tevan (Lyndsey), Brittany, Cody, McKailey, Carter, Greyson, Finnleigh, Delaney, Lucas, Payten, and Teagan; 11 great grandchildren; and brother, Donald (Sherry) Beemblossom. Nancy is preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Josephine; brother, Bruce Beemblossom; and sister, Janice (Tim) Furbee.
