Myrtle V. Foltz, 89, of Chadwick, Illinois, died Tuesday, March 21, 2006 at Lena Living Center, Lena, Illinois. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 25, 2006 at the Evangelical Free Church, Chadwick, Illinois. Burial will be in the Chadwick Cemetery. Pastor Josh Jensen will officiate. A visitation will be held 9:30–11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 25, 2006 at the Evangelical Free Church, Chadwick. Memorials may be given to the Chadwick Fire Department or the Lena Living Center in Myrtle’s memory.
Myrtle was born April 23, 1916, in Thomson, Illinois, the daughter of Charles and Myrta (Cobb) Groharing. Myrtle married Leroy Foltz on July 23, 1938 in Thomson, IL. Leroy passed away April 11, 1991.
Myrtle and her husband farmed in rural Chadwick for twenty-three years. She also worked at the Royal Blue Grocery Store in Thomson. Myrtle enjoyed quilting, sewing, and cooking. She loved spending time with her family and friends. Myrtle was a lifetime member of the Evangelical Free Church in Chadwick. She was a member of both the Women’s Circle at the church and the Home Extension in Chadwick.
Myrtle will be deeply missed by three sons; Gerald "Jerry" (Sandi) Foltz of Chadwick, Illinois, Kenneth (Sandy) Foltz of Orangeville, Illinois, Keith (Marna) Foltz of Bothell, Washington; one brother, Fred (Ann) Groharing of Morrison, Illinois; one sister, June (Wes) Luckstead of Mission Hills, California; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Myrtle is preceded in death by her husband, Leroy; four brothers and seven sisters.
