Myrtle M. Breckenfelder, age 90, of Hanover, Illinois, died Saturday, April 1, 2006 at the Elizabeth Nursing Home, Elizabeth, Illinois. Graveside Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 7, 2006 at the Evergreen Cemetery in Hanover, Illinois. Memorials may be directed to the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Hanover, Illinois in Myrtle’s memory.
Myrtle was born on September 29, 1915 in Hanover, Illinois, the daughter of Earl and Mabel (Wearmouth) Chapman. She graduated from the Hanover High School and later from the Acme Business College in Lansing, Michigan. She married Robert G. Breckenfelder on September 21, 1940 in Clinton, Iowa. Robert died July 31, 1977 in Rolling Meadows, Illinois.
Myrtle was homemaker who loved to take care of her family. She was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church and was also a lifetime member of the Lions Club in Hanover. Myrtle liked to hunt and fish; she also enjoyed breeding and raising German Shorthairs.
Survivors include one niece; Janice (Thomas) Fischer of Hendersonville, North Carolina; one nephew, William (Elaine) Foley Jr. of Fort Wayne, Indiana and one great niece, Michelle Fischer of Arden, North Carolina.
Myrtle is preceded in death by her husband, Robert and one sister, Jean Foley.
