Myrna Lee St. Ores, age 74, of Thomson was a strong and capable wife, mother and friend. A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m., Monday, September 8, 2014 at the Law-Jones Funeral Home in Thomson. Burial will take place in Lower York Cemetery, Thomson. A visitation will be held from 9:00-11:00 a.m., prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to the family or a humane society of the donor’s choice in Myrna’s memory.
Myrna was born on January 7, 1940, the daughter of Thelma V. Williams in Coloma Township, Whiteside County, Illinois. She graduated from the Sterling School of Cosmetology in Sterling, Illinois. After graduation, Myrna was an instructor at the Sterling School of Cosmetology. She married Ralph Kraft in January 1959 and later married Eugene St. Ores in 1983. Eugene died in September 26, 1999.
Myrna was always busy, owning and operating her own tack shop, restaurant, bar and various salons. She also enjoyed breeding Poodles, grooming, and boarding dogs. She treasured spending time with her husband, Gene trail riding and camping in their RV. Most of all, Myrna enjoyed the outdoors and spending time with her two dogs, Corky and Zoey.
Myrna will be dearly missed by her two sons; Tim (Rita) Kraft of East Bethel, Minnesota and Steve (Becky) Kraft of Juneau, Wisconsin; two daughters, Robin (Jim) Bridges of Boone, Iowa and Holly Hardin of Port Byron, Illinois; one step-daughter, Gina St. Ores of Thomson, Illinois; sixteen grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; two brothers, Dave (Julie) Thomas of Colona, Illinois and Bob (Ruthey) Pitts of Elberton, Georgia; two sisters, Cathy (Ken) Edge of Geneva, Illinois and Joan (Larry) Laing of Spragueville, Iowa; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Myrna was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene; and one sister, Jeanne Behrens.
