Myrna Jean Pidde

Myrna Jean Pidde, age 86, passed away December 29, 2024 at FHN Hospital, in Freeport, IL. A funeral service will be held at 12 noon, Friday, January 3, 2025, at Law Jones Funeral Home, in Thomson, IL. Visitation will take place from 10 a.m. to 12 noon. Burial will follow at Lower York Cemetery.

Myrna was born October 9, 1938, in Clinton, IA, the daughter of Ernest and Erna (Dierks) Sanders. She attended Goose Lake, IA schools, graduating from Goose Lake High School. Myrna first worked for a local bank, then for Eaton Corp. for many years. She also worked at Crazy Acres, where she had many fond memories.

On October 9, 1959 (Myrna’s 21st birthday), she married Charles “Monty” Pidde. They had three children and filled their life with family card games, country drives, and travelling adventures in places like Las Vegas, Wisconsin, and Hawaii.

Myrna loved time spent with her children, and later grandchildren, and in her spare time, found peace watching the birds. After retirement, she and Monty enjoyed trips to Florida to visit Monty’s sisters.

Life slowed down for Myrna following Monty’s passing in 2005, but she never stopped leaning on her beloved family. She will be dearly missed by a son, Cory (Diane) Pidde, of Mt. Carroll, IL; daughter, Carrie Hebeler, of Thomson; two grandchildren, Nathan (Samantha) Pidde and Katherine (Robert) Gardner; four great-grandchildren; two step children, Kim McCray and Guy (Theresa) Pidde; nine step-grandchildren; and many step great-grandchildren. Myrna is preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Erna; son, Curt Pidde; sisters, Kathleen “Kay” Claussen, Marilyn Mullen, and Elaine Jepsen; and brothers, Paul and Hobart Sanders.
