Milo Francis Feller, age 87, of Preston, Iowa passed into heaven Saturday, January 17, 2015 at the Mill Valley Care Center, Bellevue, Iowa. A Funeral Mass will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 23, 2015 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Preston with Father Don Hertges officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery, Preston. Milo was born June 28, 1927 in Springbrook, Iowa, the son of Nicholas and Anna (Kilburg) Feller. He attended Springbrook Country School. On June 28, 1949, Milo married Arlene Janet Miller. They celebrated sixty-five years of marriage.
At the age of seventeen, Milo went to work for Ambrosy Trucking in Springbrook for eight years. He then worked as a Livestock Buyer for Dubuque Pack for thirty years, retiring in 1982. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and the Preston Volunteer Fire Department.
Milo enjoyed hearing about his grandchildren's sporting events, listening to NASCAR races on TV and talking about the races with his son. He was also an avid horseman, he broke and trained horses for many years. He rode on many trail rides before losing his sight, including several 100-mile rides in Missouri. He truly enjoyed his horses.
Milo will be dearly missed by his wife Arlene of Preston; two sons, James "Jim" (Gail) Feller of Preston and Jeff (Linda) Feller of Bettendorf, Iowa; two daughters, Brenda Feller (Jo Carey) of Savanna, Illinois and Betty (Rick) Petersen of Preston; a son-in-law, Mardell Steines of Springbrook; a daughter-in-law, Carol Feller of Bellevue; twelve grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; a brother, Omer "Pete" (Rosie) Feller of Preston; and a sister-in-law, Elaine Feller of Bellevue. Milo is preceded in death by a son, Brian Feller; a daughter, Janet Steines; a brother, Sylvester "Shorty" Feller; and a sister, Phyllis Steines.
