Mildred D. Koser, age 91, of Savanna, Illinois, died Saturday, March 22, 2008, at her home in Mest Manor. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday, March 26th, at the First Evangelical Lutheran Church, Mt. Carroll, Illinois, with Reverend David Vidler officiating. Burial will follow at Savanna Township Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00 – 8:00 pm Tuesday, March 25th, at the Law – Jones Funeral Home in Savanna, and also for one hour prior to the services at Church. Memorials may be directed to Mercy Hospice. Mildred was born April 22, 1916 in Savanna, the daughter of Edward and Rosa (Baier) Law. She was a graduate of the Savanna High School Class of 1934. On June 9, 1940, Mildred married Orville Koser in Clinton, Iowa. He died March 30, 1978.Mildred was a homemaker and dearly cherished the time spent with her family. In younger years she worked for Eaton Corporation, the Savanna Garment Factory and the Savanna Medical Center. For several years after retirement, she had also answered phones on Sundays for Law-Jones Funeral Home.Mildred was a member of the First Evangelical Lutheran Church, Mt. Carroll. She enjoyed crocheting and watching the Chicago Bulls and Cubs.Mildred will be dearly missed by a son, Terry (Ronda) Koser of Savanna, Illinois and a daughter, Bonnie (Lowell) Kaller of Odell, Nebraska; 6 grandchildren; and 4 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and brothers and sisters.
