Mildred M. Foht, age 90, of Hanover, Illinois died Monday, March 1, 2011, at Mercy Medical Center, Dubuque, Iowa. A Funeral Mass will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, March 5, 2011 at the St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Hanover with Father Noel Jacob as Celebrant. Burial will take place in Evergreen Cemetery, Hanover. Visitation will be from 4:30 – 7:00 p.m. Friday, March 4, 2011 at the Law-Jones Funeral Home, Hanover with a Rosary Service held at 7:00 p.m. Mildred was born on February 16, 1921, the daughter of Edward and Elizabeth (Kilburg) Foltz in Hanover, Illinois. She attended school in Hanover and graduated from Hanover High School. Mildred married Charles G. Foht on June 1, 1939 in Hanover. Charles died on November 7, 1985.
Mildred was a homemaker and farm wife who cherished taking care of her family. She also worked for Eaton Corp, Hanover for several years. Mildred was a member of the St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Hanover. Mildred and her husband, Charles enjoyed their retirement, collecting antiques and wintering in Florida. Most of all, Mildred loved spending time with her family and friends.
Mildred will be dearly missed by her five sons, Joseph (Kay) Foht Vadnais Heights, Minnesota, Charles Leo (Kathy) Foht of Davis, Illinois, John (Pat) Foht of Brookings, Oregon, William (Helen) Foht of Tolono, Illinois and Robert (Judy) Foht of Mountain Grove, Missouri; twelve grandchildren; thirty-seven great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren;
Mildred was preceded in death by her husband, Charles and one daughter, Betty Ann Foht on June 6, 1960.
