Michael Risko, Sr., age 92, of Passaic, New Jersey died Saturday, January 26, 2008 at the Good Samaritan Nursing Home, Mt. Carroll, Illinois. A Funeral Service will be held Friday at SS. Peter and Paul Russian Orthodox Cathedral, Passaic, NJ with burial in the Cathedral Cemetery. Memorials may be given in Mike’s memory to the Good Samaritan Nursing Home, 1006 Lowden St. Mt. Carroll, IL 61053.
Mike was born September 26, 1915 in Passaic, NJ, the son of John and Anna (Pribish) Risko. In 1939, Mike married Elizabeth Stankiewicz in Passaic, NJ.
He worked 32 years for Becton-Dickinson, East Rutherford, NJ. Mike was a member of SS. Peter and Paul Russian Orthodox Cathedral, Passaic, NJ and the Professional Photographer’s Association. In his younger years, he was an amateur boxer participating in "Golden Gloves" competition.
Mike will be dearly missed by a son, Michael Risko, Jr (Bev Kilpatrick) of Mt. Carroll, Illinois; two daughters, Kathy (Al) Stanier of Bayville, NJ and Jo-Ann Toth of East Rutherford, NJ; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Mike is preceded in death by his wife, a granddaughter, two brothers, a sister, and a son in-law.
