Michael K. Lenz

Michael K. Lenz, age 41 of Mount Carroll, Illinois died on Thursday, May 31, 2012. A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 6, 2012 at Frank-Law-Jones Funeral Home, Mount Carroll. Cremation rites will be accorded following the service. A visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 5, 2012 at Frank-Law-Jones Funeral Home, Mount Carroll. In lieu of flowers, an educational fund has been established for his son, Joe.
Mike was born on August 22, 1970, the son of Marvin and Deborah (Baumann) Lenz in Madison, Wisconsin. He attended Barrington High School and graduated with the Class of 1988. After graduation, Mike worked several different jobs but mostly in restaurants and bars. In 1996, Mike attended Kishwaukee Community College, where he earned his Associates Degree in Business and Arts. While attending college, Mike met his future wife, Rebecca Kallemeyn. They were married on July 31, 1999 in Savanna, Illinois.
Mike and his wife, Becky owned and operated Kallemezoo's in Mount Carroll. Mike was the current President of the Mount Carroll Chamber of Commerce and was actively involved in his community. He was also a Den Leader of Boy Scouts Pack # 48, Savanna. Mike enjoyed sports, camping and being with his family and friends. Most of all, Mike loved spending time with his son, Joe.
Mike will be dearly missed by his wife, Becky and son, Joe of Mount Carroll; his mother, Deb (Ken) Behnke of Algonquin, Illinois; one brother, Dave Lenz of Beloit, Wisconsin; his grandmother, Wilma Lenz of Columbus, Wisconsin; his mother and father in-law, Paul (Louise) Kallemeyn of Savanna and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Mike was preceded in death by his father, Marvin and one brother, Brian Lenz.
