Michael Gouty

Michael Brent Gouty of Savanna, Illinois, died at the age of 67 on Saturday, January 31, 2015 at home. Cremation rites have been accorded. Friends and family are invited to share in Michael’s life at www.lawjonesfuneralhome.com .
Michael was born March 25, 1947 in Van Wert, Ohio, the son of Harold and Josephine (Gamble) Gouty. He attended school in Van Wert, Ohio. He married Mary Bowman on June 10, 1967 in Glen Burnie, Maryland.
Michael proudly served his country in the United States Army for 21 years, attaining the rank of E7. After his retirement from the Army, Michael worked for the paint department at Menard’s in Freeport, Illinois. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, playing pool, cooking, and most of all, spending time with his family.
Michael will be dearly missed by his ex-wife, and best friend, Mary Gouty of Savanna; one daughter, Kimberly Ann Gouty of Savanna; two grandsons, Michaelbrandon Gouty and Anthony Gouty-Lease of Savanna; one great-grandson, Alexander Gouty and one brother, Gregory (Debbie) Gouty of Oxford, Pennsylvania. He is preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Josephine, and his older brother, Jack Gouty.
