Mary "Lolly" Veith

Mary “Lolly” Elizabeth Veith age 97, of Mt. Carroll, Illinois passed away Saturday, July 25, 2015 at the Carroll County Good Samaritan Center in Mt. Carroll. A private family inurnment will take place at the Oak Hill Cemetery in Mt. Carroll. Memorials may be directed to the Good Samaritan Society in Mt. Carroll, or to the First Baptist Church, Mt. Carroll. A memorial fund has been established in Lolly’s memory.
Lolly was born April 18, 1918, in Mt. Carroll, the daughter of Earle and Florence (Smith) Wachtel. She attended Shimer College in Mt. Carroll. Lolly married Claude DuBree on January 15, 1941. Claude passed away in March 1965. She later married Thomas A. Veith on August 21, 1965. Thomas passed away January 10, 2009.
Lolly was a member of the First Baptist Church in Mt. Carroll. Lolly ejoyed playing Bridge and was a member of many Bridge Clubs. Lolly and Tom spent their winters in Florida, and they also enjoyed camping at Timber Lake rural Mt. Carroll. Lolly owned her own floral business in her home. She enjoyed participating in the local craft fairs. She had a green thumb and spent much of her time in her garden. Most of all, Lolly treasured the time she spent with her family and friends.
Lolly is survived by her two sons, Thomas (Carol) DuBree of Naugatuck, Connecticut, Douglas(Cindy) DuBree of Moline, Illinois; two daughtes, Pru Haney of Davenport, Iowa, Pamela (Ron Dauphin) Miller of Savanna, Illinois; a step-son, Richard (Nancy) Veith of Mt. Carroll; one step-daughter, Mary Elizabeth (Clark) Baker of Zion, Illinois; ten grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and a great-great grandson. Lolly is preceded in death by her husbands; two sisters, Virginia Grove and Earlene Dallman.
