Mary Ann Falancer treasured her community and loved sharing her passion for movies. Mary Ann died at the age of 66 on Friday, November 22, 2013 at Mercy Medical Center, Clinton, Iowa.
Mary Ann was born March 18, 1947, the daughter of John and Hazel (Shaw) O’Leary in Savanna. She attended Savanna High School, graduating with the Class of 1965. She married James Falancer on June 5, 1982 at St. John’s Catholic Church, Savanna.
Mary Ann loved her community and managed the Savanna Times Theater for 18 years. She belonged to St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, where she was a member of the Catholic Women. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting and reading. Most of all, Mary Ann treasured taking care of her family.
Mary Ann is lovingly remembered by her husband, James; son, David Pask of Savanna; three grandchildren, Travis, Reno, and Brianna Robertson; two brothers Dennis (Jeannie) O’Leary of Huntley, Illinois and Timothy (Patricia) O’Leary of Hawthorne Woods, Illinois; one sister, Kathy Seiple of Savanna and a sister-in-law, Carol O’Leary of Medford, Wisconsin.
Mary Ann is preceded in death by one daughter, Michelle Robertson, a brother J.A. O’Leary, and her parents, John and Hazel O’Leary.
A Funeral Mass will be held 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, November 26, 2013 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Savanna. Cremation Rites will be accorded following the funeral mass. Burial of her cremated remains will take place at a later date in St. John’s Catholic Cemetery, Savanna. Visitation will be held from 9:00 – 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, November 26, 2013 prior to the mass at Law-Jones Funeral Home, Savanna. A memorial fund has been established in Mary’s memory.
