Mary Craig

Mary Craig, age 89, of Savanna, Illinois died Monday, September 9, 2013 at Mercy Medical Center in Clinton, Iowa. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 21, 2013 at The First United Methodist Church in Savanna. Cremation rites have been accorded. Mary was born November 26, 1923, the daughter of Henry and Estella (Farrell) Bell in Savanna. She attended Savanna Township Schools. Mary married Bernard Stoddard who passed away in 1973. Later she married John Craig. He died in 1993. Mary was a member of The First United Methodist Church and enjoyed attending church events. In her younger years Mary enjoyed quilting, cooking, and baking. She also enjoyed reading and spending time with family. Mary was loved and surrounded by her many nieces and nephews as her family became the most important part of her life.
Mary will be dearly missed by her sister, Ruth French of Savanna; two brothers, Wilmer Bell of Grand Rapids, MI and Franklin Bell of Milan, IL; many nieces and nephews; one son; Bernard Stoddard Jr.; one granddaughter and two great- grandchildren.
Mary is preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Charles Bedford, Robert Bell, James Bell, and Carl Bell and three sisters, Doris Foster, Ferolee Shambo, and Evelyn Bell.
