Mary Elizabeth Bradley, age 90, of Savanna, Illinois, died Wednesday, February 15, 2017, at Big Meadows Nursing Home, Savanna. A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 21, 2017 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Savanna. Visitation will be held from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. prior to the Mass at Law-Jones Funeral Home, Savanna. Burial will take place in St. John’s Catholic Cemetery, Savanna.
Mary was born February 23, 1926 in Savanna, the daughter of Asension and Lavonne (Hernandez) Rivera. She attended Savanna Schools. Mary married Wesley Bradley on September 22, 1951. They celebrated 61 years of marriage until Wesley’s death on December 30, 2012.
Mary was a homemaker who cherished taking care of her family. She enjoyed sewing, dancing, and crafting wreaths and silk flower arrangements. Mary loved entertaining friends and family and enjoyed making people laugh. Her family was the most important thing in her life, and she always spoiled her boys.
Mary will be dearly missed by four sons, John Bradley of Mackinaw, Illinois, James Bradley of Savanna, Paul Bradley of Marysville, Washington, and David Bradley of Savanna; three daughters, Teresa Venson of Savanna, Toni Bradley of Indianapolis, Indiana, and Jody Bradley of East Falmouth Massachusetts; 15 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Tony (Judy) Rivera of Camanche, Iowa, and Francis Rivera of Collinsville, Illinois; three sisters, Kay Greve of Des Moines, Iowa, Pat Haggerty of Hanover, Illinois, and JoAnn “Lena” Hernandez of Savanna. Mary is preceded in death by her husband, Wesley; one son, James Paul; and two brothers, Mike and John Rivera.
