Mary was born to Francisco and Antonia (Camarena) Castro on September 26th, 1927 in Savanna, IL. Growing up Mary attended Savanna High School and graduated in 1945. Later she went on to marry Jose Rubio and had five children. Mary started out working at the Garment factory as a seamstress and later, upon the businesses closing, she went on to work at National Lock. In 1962 she was wed to Virgil M. Adrian with whom she had four children. Mary went on to work days at Eaton Corporation till retirement.
One of the many things Mary enjoyed doing was sewing for all of her children and grandchildren, making them pillows, blankets, dresses and a variety of other things. She could often be found out back in the garden or in the kitchen with her daughters canning tomatoes and making jelly. In the early morning and evening she would read her bible and would always attend services at The New Hope Assembly of God Church. To this day some of her grandchildren remember visiting her at the cafe of Anne Preston, where she worked part time. Mary and Virgil were also known to enjoy time with their children while fishing in Arkansas, chasing cows in Wisconsin at Virgil's sister's family farm, and riding to the Carroll County fair in the back of the pick up truck. After her children were grown, Mary treasured time at family gatherings with her grand-babies.
Mary is survived and lovingly remembered by sister, Helen Castro Weiler; four daughters: Stacey (Richard) Morris, Susan (John) McCloy, Janice Adrian Tatar (Larry Rhea) and Toni (Bob) Morris; four sons: Raul (Christina Maria) Rubio, Martin (JoAnn) Rubio, John Rubio and James Adrian; two step daughters: Virginia (Henry) Winter and Tammie Sipes; three sister in laws, Lupe Castro, Angelina Castro Diaz, Judy Castro; 34 grandchildren; 48 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
