Marvin T. Yenney, age 71, of Savanna, was a kind-hearted man who could always be found helping others. He died on October 17, 2014, at Mercy Medical Center, Clinton, Iowa. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, October 24, 2014 at Law-Jones Funeral Home, Savanna, IL. A visitation will be held on Thursday, October 23, 2014, from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at Law-Jones Funeral Home, Savanna, IL. Interment will be in Center Hill Cemetery, rural Mount Carroll. Marvin was born on September 1, 1943, the son of Donald Roberts and Helen Marie (Shultz) Yenney in Savanna, Illinois. Marvin attended Carroll County Schools and after high school graduation, he attended Northwestern Ministerial College in Watertown, Wisconsin for two years. On October 24, 1964, he married Pauline Ann Bork. Pauline died on December 28, 1986. Marvin later married Mary (Barker) Bonjour on March 12, 1988.
Marvin was a truck driver for most of his life, driving for Neumiller Farms for over 30 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, long drives in the country, and loved visiting Palisades State Park.
Marvin will be dearly missed by his wife of twenty-six years, Mary; five children, Tommy (Linda) Yenney of Brownwood, Texas, Randy (Misty) Yenney of Knoxville, Iowa, Claudette “Snooks” (Ben) Alexander of Hanahan, South Carolina, Brenda (Jay) Legel of Savanna, Illinois, and Theresa Yenney of Clinton, Iowa; four stepchildren, Stan (Diane) Bonjour of Benton, Wisconsin, Robert (Angela) Bonjour of Pekin, Illinois, Charles Bonjour of Monroe, Wisconsin, and Karen (Jeff) Johnson of Rolling Hills, Georgia; twenty grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; one brother, Stanley Yenney of Savanna, Illinois; two sisters, Virginia “Ginnie” (Bill) Thulen of Savanna, Illinois, and Carol Kerkove of Savanna, Illinois; an Aunt, Gail Yenney of Mt. Carroll; and his loyal dog, Jack. Marvin was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Pauline; and a brother, Arnold.
