Marvin William Ury

Marvin William Drury, age 79, of Clinton, IA passed away Saturday, October 1, 2022 at University of Iowa Hospital, in Iowa City. A funeral service will be held Thursday October 6, 2022 at Law Jones Funeral Home, in Preston, at 11am. Visitation will take place from 10am to 11am, before the service. Marvin was born February 6, 1943, in Jackson County, IA, the son of Benjamin and Ida (Baker) Drury. He attended Miles schools. In 1964, Marvin married June Petersen. He and June would divorce a few years later, but found their way back to each other, reuniting in 1998.

Marvin made a career of working for the Milwaukee Railroad, while also serving as a farm hand in the Green Island area and working for Rose woods until their closing. Marvin enjoyed working with wood; building furniture and outside decorations, and could often be found playing many a card & board game.

Marvin is survived by his companion June Craig, of Clinton, IA; many nieces & nephews; his dog, Cricket; and sister-in-law, Deborah Drury, of Miles, IA. Marvin is preceded in death by his parents, Benjamin and Ida; brothers, Milton, Darrell, Calvin, Melvin & Kenney; and sister, Thelma Foster.
