Marvin W. McCue, age 66, of Fulton, Illinois, formerly of Thomson, Illinois, died Friday, September 17, 2010, at Genesis Medical Center East Campus, Davenport, Iowa, surrounded by his loving family. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, September 22, 2010, at the Law – Jones Funeral Home in Savanna, with Rev. Larry Thomson officiating. Burial will follow in the Savanna Township Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5 to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 21, also at the Law – Jones Funeral Home in Savanna. Memorials may be directed to the family. Marvin was born March 21, 1944, at home in Savanna, Illinois, the son of Marvin and Elverda (Anderson) McCue. He graduated from Savanna High School with the Class of 1964. Marvin married Patricia Badger on July 27, 1964, in Savanna. They were married for 35 years. Marvin was a welder for Johnson’s Sheet Metal in East Moline, Illinois, for most of his life. He enjoyed coaching baseball and was a Boy Scout Leader in Thomson, Illinois. He enjoyed camping and fishing, and deer and duck hunting for many years. Marvin loved horses and was a member of the American Quarter Horse Association. Most importantly, he loved his seven granddaughters, who were his “little cowgirls.”Marvin is survived and lovingly remembered by two daughters, Sheila Keeney of Morrison, Illinois, and Melissa Matusko of Albany, Illinois; one son, Tim (Theresa) McCue of Clinton, Iowa; seven granddaughters, Krystal, Natallie, Hailey, Samantha, Clare, McKayla, and Kaitlyn; his former wife Patricia McCue of Thomson, Illinois; three sisters, Betty Oberheim of Rockford, Illinois, June (Glen) Whiting of Thomson, and Donna (Julius) Roberts of Morrison; an one brother, Charles McCue of Savanna, Illinois.Marvin was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters.
