Marsha Ann Bedford, age 61 of Hanover, Illinois, formerly of Savanna, Illinois died on Wednesday, April 7, 2010 at the Carroll County Good Samaritan Nursing Home, Mount Carroll, Illinois. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, April 10, 2010 at the Law-Jones Funeral Home, Savanna. Burial will take place in the Springlake Cemetery, Savanna. A visitation will be held from 11:00 –1:00 p.m., prior to the service at the funeral home. A memorial fund has been established in Marsha’s memory.

Marsha was born on December 7, 1948, the daughter of William T. and Barbara Ann (Fields) Cook in Prairie Du Chien, Wisconsin. She attended Savanna High School and graduated with the Class of 1968. Marsha married Merrill R. Peterson on November 11, 1972 in Reno, Nevada and later married Russell S. Bedford on March 5, 1983 in Las Vegas, Nevada. She attended the Church of the Open Door, Clinton, Iowa and the Mount Carroll Church of God, Mount Carroll. Marsha was a member of T.O.P.S. and also participated in Girl Scouts of America. She was known as a neighborhood mom and always had kids in her home. Most of all, Marsha loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Marsha will be dearly missed by her husband, Russell of Hanover; two sons, Christopher Peterson of Olathe, Kansas and Russell “R.J.” (Elisha) Bedford III of Linn Valley, Kansas; three daughters, Danette (Jerry) Jankowski of Holmen, Wisconsin, Elisha (John) Widner of Clinton, Iowa and Bridget (Joseph) Campbell of Hanover; fourteen grandchildren; and one sister, Cheryl (Jeff) Melhus of Galesburg, Illinois.

Marsha is preceded in death by her parents; and one grandson, Derrick Thomas Peterson.
